Privacy & cookies

PromoClock collects as little as it can. This page explains what is processed when you visit, which cookies and storage the site uses, and how to change your mind at any time.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Who is responsible

PromoClock is run by Onur Şendere in Shrewsbury, UK, who is the data controller for this site. For privacy questions or requests, email info@promoclock.co or message @onursendere on X.

When you visit

To deliver pages and keep the site secure, our hosting server and Cloudflare, which sits in front of it, process technical data from each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for and the time. We don't use this data to identify or profile you. The /api/status endpoint keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for a few minutes to enforce its rate limit.

Google Analytics, only with your consent

If you choose “Allow analytics”, your browser loads Google Analytics 4 so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), your device, browser, operating system, screen size and language, and interactions such as scrolling and clicks on outbound links. These are linked to a random ID stored in the _ga cookies. Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. Advertising features stay off: Google signals, ad personalisation and ad storage are disabled. If you choose “Necessary only” or don't choose, Google Analytics isn't loaded and nothing is sent to Google.

Legal basis

Google Analytics runs only with your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and regulation 6 of PECR; in the EU, GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive). Request data and the necessary storage listed below rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure site and on providing the features you use, which doesn't require consent.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 14 months; after that only aggregated reports remain. The _ga cookies expire after 13 months. Your cookie choice is remembered for 6 months, then we ask again, or sooner if we change how we use cookies.

International transfers

Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, which covers these transfers.

Your choices and rights

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing stops measurement straight away and deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. You can also ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to or restrict its use; because analytics data is tied only to a random ID, we may not be able to match it to you. If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects cookies, the banner asks for your choice again.

Cookies and storage we use

Necessary items are saved only when you use the feature they belong to. They stay on your device, except the language cookie, which is sent to our server so the home page opens in your language. Analytics cookies are set only after you allow them.
