Semrush
Semrush is an SEO and AI search visibility platform from Semrush Holdings, which Adobe acquired in April 2026. It pairs keyword research, rank tracking and site audits with monitoring of how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI answers mention a brand. Agencies, in-house SEO teams and content marketers use it to plan and measure search work.

What is Semrush?
Semrush is a browser-based marketing platform organized into toolkits. Every paid plan bundles the SEO Toolkit with AI visibility features, and specialist toolkits for Local, Content, Social, Advertising, AI PR and Traffic & Market are bought separately and added on top.
What changed recently
Adobe closed its purchase of Semrush on April 28, 2026, and the plan line-up now leads with AI search. The paid tiers Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, which Semrush also sells as Semrush One, combine classic rankings data with prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI. The cheaper SEO plan keeps the rank-tracking tools but leaves out the dedicated prompt quota.
Limitations
The bill adds up fast. The entry plan is $139 a month for a single user, extra seats start at $45, and content, local or social work each needs another subscription. Prompt tracking tops out at 200 prompts a day below Enterprise. Annual plans are paid for the year in advance, there is no lifetime option and no individual student plan, and the free tier’s 10 daily reports only suit a quick look.
