  • Heavy writers and email-heavy roles

Key features

Dictation in any app

Speak into any text field on Mac, Windows, iOS or Android and Flow types polished text without app-specific plugins.

Automatic cleanup

Removes filler words, adds punctuation and formats your speech so the result reads like typed writing.

Personal dictionary

Learns names, client terms and jargon as you use it, and you can add your own words manually.

Snippets

Say a short cue to insert text you use often, such as a scheduling link, address or standard reply.

Styles per app

Adjusts tone to the app you are writing in, from formal to very casual.

Bot-free Notetaker

Records meetings on Mac and Windows without a bot joining, then lets you ask questions about each meeting.

MCP access to notes

Connects your meeting notes to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools through MCP, including on the free plan.

Use cases

  • Dictate a long email reply while walking between meetings and send it without editing.
  • Speak detailed prompts into Cursor or ChatGPT instead of typing several paragraphs.
  • Capture an in-person client conversation with the Notetaker and pull action items afterward.
  • Write documents in a second language, with Flow detecting the language you speak automatically.

What is Wispr Flow?

Wispr Flow replaces the keyboard with your voice. You speak naturally, and Flow inserts edited text wherever your cursor is, whether that is Slack, Gmail, a code editor or a notes app. It detects 100+ languages automatically.

What stands out

  • Edits, not just transcripts. Filler words disappear and punctuation appears, so dictated text rarely needs cleanup.
  • Two tools in one. Dictation and the Notetaker share one subscription, and notes can feed other AI assistants through MCP.

Who it’s for

Flow suits people who write all day, including founders answering email, support agents and developers prompting AI coding tools. Teams can share a dictionary and snippets on Pro, while Growth adds SSO and HIPAA enforcement with a signed BAA.

Limitations

Free users hit the weekly word limit quickly with daily use. Everything is processed in the cloud, so Flow needs a connection and may not suit strict offline policies. The Notetaker is Mac and Windows only for now.

Wispr Flow FAQ

Yes. The free plan works on every platform with a limit of 2,000 dictated words a week on desktop and 1,000 on mobile, resetting weekly. It also includes limited Notetaker use with a weekly meeting cap.

Flow Pro costs $15 per user per month on monthly billing or $12 per user per month billed annually. It removes the weekly word limit and keeps more meeting notes for longer.

No. Wispr says transcription always happens in the cloud to keep it accurate and fast. A Data and Privacy setting controls whether your audio, transcripts and edits may be used to improve Wispr's models.

No. The Notetaker runs on your own Mac or Windows computer, works with any meeting app and in-person conversations, and nothing joins the call. It is not yet available on mobile.

Yes. Students and educators with an education email address get 50% off Flow Pro, and student plans can be bought on iOS through the App Store or on desktop by card.
