Zapier
Zapier is a no-code automation platform from Zapier that connects more than 9,000 apps through multi-step workflows called Zaps, alongside Tables, Forms, AI agents and an MCP server. Since 2026 it bills Zap steps, AI steps, code and MCP calls from one shared task pool. Operations, marketing and sales teams rely on it.

What is Zapier?
Zapier links apps with trigger-and-action workflows called Zaps and now describes itself as an AI orchestration platform. One subscription also covers Tables for structured data, Forms for intake, Canvas for mapping processes, an MCP endpoint for AI assistants and a developer SDK.
How tasks work in 2026
Every successful action draws from a single task pool shared by Zaps, AI steps, code, MCP and the SDK. A standard step costs 1 task, a Lead Router step 5, and an AI step 1 to 5 depending on the model tier. Built-in tools such as Formatter, Paths and Filters cost nothing. The higher the task tier you buy, the lower the price per task.
Limitations
- Moving from Professional to Team for shared Zaps and SAML SSO more than triples the monthly price.
- Agents and Chatbots are add-ons with their own plans and quotas, separate from your Zap tasks.
- Premium-model AI steps use 5 tasks each, so AI-heavy Zaps drain a quota quickly.
- Free accounts are limited to two-step Zaps and 100 tasks a month, and Copilot has daily message limits there.
