What is Fathom?
Fathom is an AI meeting recorder that captures calls, transcribes them and writes a summary you can read the moment the meeting ends. It works with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams and adds team features such as deal views, scorecards and shared playlists for sales, customer success and product groups.
Superhuman acquisition
Superhuman, the productivity company behind Superhuman Mail, Docs (formerly Coda) and the Go assistant, announced the acquisition on September 14, 2026. Fathom stays a standalone product for now, and Superhuman plans to bring its notetaking into email, calendar, documents and agents. Terms were not disclosed on the announcement pages.
Limitations
- No mobile, tablet, Chromebook or Linux support; recording runs on Mac and Windows.
- Bot-free capture is a Mac beta, so Windows users still rely on the meeting bot.
- CRM sync is capped at 3 users per domain on Free and Premium.
- Team and Business require at least 2 users.
- Account-wide Ask Fathom is still in beta, and its lookback window for team calls depends on the plan tier.
- The acquisition is days old, so plans and pricing may change later.
