What is Freepik (now Magnific)?

Freepik launched in Málaga in 2010 as a search engine for graphic resources, founded by Alejandro Sánchez, Pablo Blanes and Joaquín Cuenca. It started producing its own stock in 2014, took on EQT as majority owner in 2020 and added Videvo, Iconfinder and Original Mockups in 2022.

Real-time AI image generation arrived in 2023, and in May 2024 Freepik bought Magnific, the AI upscaler. On April 28, 2026 the whole platform relaunched under that name. Fortune reported about $230 million in annual recurring revenue at the time, and Magnific counts more than 1 million paying subscribers and 250+ enterprise clients.

Freepik accounts, subscriptions, downloads, licenses and projects carried over automatically. Magnific runs in the browser, in desktop apps for macOS and Windows, in iOS and Android apps, and inside Claude or ChatGPT through the Magnific MCP.

Plans, credits and Unlimited

Magnific is testing two sets of plan names: some visitors see Premium, Premium+ and Pro Starter, others see Creator, Plus and Pro for the same prices and credits. Its help center uses Premium, Premium+ and Pro.

Credits pay for AI tools only, never for stock downloads. Monthly plans reset credits every month and unused credits don’t roll over; annual plans deliver the whole year’s credits upfront, valid for 12 months. From Premium+ up, annual plans also carry bonus credits: Premium+ gets 600,000 a year instead of the 540,000 that 12 monthly allocations would give. Extra credit packs are sold on Premium+, Pro and Business, last three years and are spent after plan credits.

Unlimited on Premium+, Pro and Business means generating without credits on selected models, such as Nano Banana 2 at 1K, Kling 2.5 at 720p and MiniMax Hailuo 2.3 Fast. Premium+ gets 1,000 full-speed images per 30 days and Pro 5,000; after that, generation continues in a slower Relax queue. Pro Starter adds unlimited Nano Banana 2 at 2K, and the 4M-credit Pro tier adds Nano Banana Pro.

On Premium’s 20,000 monthly credits that is about 266 Nano Banana 2 images or 44 Kling 3.0 Pro clips. Magnific can change credit costs at any time without notice.

How to get the extra 20% off

PromoClock has a Magnific referral link: the Visit Magnific button on this page. Opened through it, the pricing page adds an extra 20% off annual Premium and Premium+, on top of the 25% annual saving. In the UK that showed Premium at £8.40 a month instead of £10.50, and Premium+ at £19.20 instead of £24, billed annually.

Monthly billing and Pro Starter showed no extra discount, and like every Magnific coupon it applies to the first payment only. We may receive a referral reward, at no extra cost to you. The steps are on the referral deal page.

  • Stock and AI share one subscription, and credits are never spent on downloads.

Limitations

  • Prices depend on your country: the US page lists dollars and the UK page pounds, both excluding tax.
  • Unlimited covers selected image and video models only and slows down after the fair-use threshold.
  • Premium has no Unlimited and can’t buy extra credit packs.
  • There’s no free trial, and the 30-day refund applies only if you haven’t downloaded anything or used any credits.
